About

Dr. Shu Wang is a Sr. Staff Researcher at Palo Alto Networks. He received his Ph.D. from George Mason University, under the supervision of Prof. Kun Sun. Prior to that, he earned a master’s degree in Computer Vision and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. He interned as an Applied Scientist at Amazon Lab126 and a Researcher at Visa Inc.

His research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and computer security, mitigating attack surfaces across key domains, including AI, software, biometrics, and networks. He authored one book in Springer Nature, published multiple papers in IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, USENIX Security, and NDSS, and wrote 3 articles for Unit 42 Threat Research. He serves as reviewer for several top-tier conferences & journals.

He likes badminton, hiking, and photography. He enjoys getting in touch with the natural world.

[Usenix Security 25] Two papers on software security are accepted by USENIX Security 2025.
[CCS 25] Invited to serve as Program Committee member in ACM CCS 2025.
[CSAW 24] Our paper is selected as a finalist (15/194) in CSAW 2024 Applied Research Competition.
[CCS 24] One paper on generative AI data security is accepted by ACM CCS 2024.
[Award] Recognized by GMU CEC with Distinguished Academic Achievement Award in 2024.
[NDSS 24] Made a paper presentation on audio security in NDSS 2024 at San Diego.
[AsiaCCS 24] One paper on binary code analysis is accepted by AsiaCCS 2024.
